The teachings of man tell us that God has provided us with free will. These same teachings note that all is as God wills it to be. Initially these concepts may seem mutually exclusive, but if you consider the possibility that both statements are correct then there is no paradox. If we do have free will and all is as God wills it to be, then our will and God's are one in the same.
To accept the marriage between God's will and free will is to accept a few very interesting implications. It implies that you experience exactly what God wants you to experience at the moment God wants you to experience it. This eliminates the ability to blame others for your fortune or misfortune because all is as God wills it to be and your choices via free will led you to where you are now.
Your experience (God's will) is a reflection of your choices (your free will). If you don't like where you are in your life right now, then the only one to blame is you. Many people have a hard time coming to terms with this. They enjoy blaming other's for their experience because they can't stand the idea that they are personally responsible for how things have played out in their life.
You may be thinking "what about things I don't have control over, like the death of a loved one or the loss of my job?" Well, if all is as God has willed it to be, then the death of your loved one and your sudden joblessness are God's will. You may not "feel" like God has your best interest in mind, but in every experience there is a lesson to be learned that will assist you in future challenges.
As long as you learn from your experience you can always fall back on Fredrich Nietzshe's often paraphrased quote: "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger."
I should point out that this doesn't only apply to those who believe in a god. If you are an athiest, you are also subject to the concept that "all is as it is." There is no need for an athiest to add God to the mix. To not believe in a god is to accept that everything "just happens" and your choices have led you to where you are now.
